Holiday Deliveries

To ensure your Groovy Lab in a Box Subscription and Single Boxes arrive by December 24th, 2019, please place your order by midnight on Sunday, December 15th, 2019 11:59pm EST  (U.S. only)Because there are external factors that may cause transit delays after a package leaves our location, we cannot guarantee delivery by a specific date.

If you have missed the holiday order deadline, you can always print a Gift Announcement to put under the tree.

Excluded items: STEM and Science Swag Store. These items will not arrive by December 24th, 2019.

 

Subscriptions

How does the subscription work?

Groovy Lab in a Box encourages children to channel their inner STEMist. Our purpose is to provide children with an opportunity to focus his or her imagination, determination, and innately inquisitive nature with a way to complete a monthly STEM project using the Engineering Design Process.  With busy parents and educators in mind, every box includes all the materials and inspiration for projects related to an age-appropriate theme. We offer high-quality award-winning boxes for young makers aged 8 and up.

Groovy Subscriptions are available in month-to-month, 3-month, 6-month and 12-month prepaid plans.  Each plan type automatically renews and you may cancel your renewal by logging into your account at least five days prior to the renewal date or by contacting customer service at support@academicsinabox.com.  Month-to-month subscriptions are billed each month.

All subscription plans can be purchased at our Groovy Subscriptions.

What age is the Groovy Lab in a Box geared towards?

Groovy Lab in a Box is for children ages 8+.  But we do encourage those parents and educators in tune with their children’s abilities to venture younger if they have an advanced “STEMist” enthusiast. Each box works well for STEM teams of four with friends and family which we outline for our subscribers in our Beyond…in a Box section of our website.

When will my credit card be charged?

Charges for Groovy Subscriptions and single stem box items occur at the time the order is placed.  Groovy Subscription renewal charges are made on the anniversary of the date you signed up.  Orders for single stem box items are charged at the time the order is placed and do not renew. Is there a place to see which kits you have and order specific ones?

Under the Single Boxes tab on the main menu, you can see individual boxes we offer. Single boxes are an excellent option to try Groovy Lab in a Box.

Approximately how long does it take to complete each kit?

Groovy Lab in a Box is a project based learning tool designed with enough investigation activities and experiments to complete their engineering design challenge for an entire month. There are several extension activities/projects, experiments, videos, interactives, and a book library all related to the month’s engineering design challenge found in our website portal, Beyond in a Box.

Are the kits reusable/refillable?

Yes, we strive to use materials that are easily accessible to our subscribers so that experiments and activities can be replenished.

Can the box be used with more than one child?

We encourage “STEM Teams” so this can be a family bonding opportunity or an opportunity to invite like-minded STEM Friends over to join in on the groovy STEM fun. The “Beyond…In A Box” section outlines ideas to do the box activities as a STEM Team of four.

I would like to use these in my classroom. Working in groups, how many students would you recommend per box?

Each box works well for collaboration STEM teams of four. For subscribers, we outline STEM Team Job Titles and suggestions of how they should be organized in our online portal: Beyond…in a Box.

Do you accept School Purchase Orders?

Yes, we accept school purchase orders.  Once you have setup an account with us, purchase orders can be submitted via email to purchaseorders@academicsinabox.com.  Orders can be placed for subscriptions or for single stem boxes.  Invoices are billed net 30.  To get started or if you have further questions, contact us at purchaseorders@academicsinabox.com.

What is your cancellation policy?

We hate to see you go, but please cancel at least 5 days prior to your next subscription renewal (billing) charge by logging into to your account or contacting support@academicsinabox.com. You may cancel anytime.

Groovy Subscriptions (month-to-month, 3-, 6-, or 12-month) cannot be canceled once the renewal payment has processed. Please cancel at least 5 days prior to your next subscription renewal charge by logging into to your account or contacting support@academicsinabox.com

As a reminder, Groovy Subscriptions (month-to-month, 3-, 6-, or 12-month) renew automatically. This does not apply to single stem box purchases. Should you need to make any changes to your subscription, please login to your account or contact support@academicsinabox.com.

Can I slow down the frequency of my delivery?

If you prefer to receive a box every two months instead of monthly, please try our Bi-Monthly option.

Order Status and Shipping

Do You Ship Internationally?

Yes, Groovy Lab in a Box ships internationally for all Groovy Subscriptions and for single boxes. Shipping charges are applied during checkout. International shipments ship at the end of each month.

Has my order shipped?

Orders ship weekly. Please allow 7-10 days after your order has been received.When your order has shipped you will receive an email confirmation with your tracking number.

International orders ship at the end of each month.

How do I change quantities or cancel an item in my order?

To make changes or to cancel a Groovy Subscription, login to your account on our website. Please note that once an order starts processing or has shipped, the order is no longer editable. Please cancel renewal Groovy Subscriptions five days prior to the renewal date of the month.  For additional assistance please contact us by emailing support@academicsinabox.com.

How do I track my order?

When your order ships you will receive a Delivery Confirmation Email containing your shipping tracking number. If you would like more information regarding your shipment tracking please contact us for assistance at support@academicsinabox.com.

How much is my shipping?

Groovy Subscriptions and single stem boxes purchased from our website include free shipping for items shipped within the United States. Other applicable shipping charges may be specified on individual items. Shipping charges are applied during checkout for international orders.

My order never arrived.

To check the shipping status, login to “My Account” located at the top right hand side of our website.  At the time an order is shipped, the shipping tracking number is emailed to you.  You may need to check your spam account for the email with the shipping confirmation information. If you need assistance locating your tracking number please email support@academicsinabox.com.

My product is missing parts.

If you are missing any items from your shipment, please contact customer support for assistance by emailing support@academicsinabox.com.

When will my back-order arrive?

Back-ordered items are those which our suppliers are unable to predict when they will have more in stock, but as soon as they do, we will be able to ship the items to you.

Do I have to pay sales tax?

You pay sales tax if you are located in the State of Virginia.

What are my payment choices?

During the checkout process you may choose any of our current payment options:  MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express and PayPal. Please note that we do not ship orders until payment has been successfully processed.

I need a copy of my receipt/invoice.

You will receive a copy of your receipt/invoice at the time of your order. If you need another copy please contact us by emailing support@academicsinabox.com.

When will my credit appear on my account?

Credits usually take 7-10 business days from the time we receive your item(s).

An account is created at the time of purchase. Simply follow the prompts to complete setting up your account. Your information is never sold to any other company and is kept completely private. Please view our Privacy Policy for more information.

How do I edit my account, shipping or billing information?

I forgot my password.

Login to your account located at the top right hand side of our website. In the Account Login box you’ll see a link that says “Forgot Password?”.  That link will send an email to you to reset your password.

What is your return policy?

Your satisfaction is of utmost importance to us. Should you need to make a return, please contact us directly for assistance at:

Item must be returned in NEW (unopened or unused) condition. Once your return is received and inspected, then we will issue a refund or credit into your account. The refund process is 7-10 business days.

How do I navigate the website?

To navigate this website, simply click on a category you might be interested in. Categories are located on the top of our website. QUICK TIP: Place your mouse cursor over anything you think could be a clickable link. You’ll notice that anytime you scroll over something that is a link, your mouse cursor will become a “hand”. Whereas scrolling over anything that is NOT a link will leave your cursor as an “arrow”.
