About Academics in a Box, Inc.: As a teacher, the founder of Academics in a Box was discouraged that kids spent 80% of their time at desks and the focus was on standardized testing. They needed more project based learning. To help solve this problem, she created Groovy Lab in a Box with 21st century thinking that mimics what happens in real world science and engineering labs where they are creating and inventing new products or solutions to problems. Kids are natural engineers. We provide them with an opportunity to focus their imagination, determination, and inquisitive nature by completing a monthly STEM project where every outcome can be different.
